New training for trainers on triple concordance skills assessment

As part of the FFM+ programme, the 29th of April marks a significant step forward in training methodology as COLEAD launches a new Training of Trainers programme. This initiative is designed to enhance trainers’ skills in assessing learners’ actual skill acquisition based on the innovative principles of triple concordance. This approach ensures a robust and comprehensive assessment strategy that is vital for both learners and trainers.

A multinational initiative

The upcoming session will involve 28 trainers, 32% of whom are women, from 14 different countries, underlining the international reach and diversity of the programme. It will be conducted in both French and English to reach a wider audience and ensure effective communication and transfer of learning across language barriers.

Key objectives of the training

The training aims to equip trainers with critical skills in several key areas:

  • Understanding triple concordance, the basic principles of this advanced assessment technique.
  • Designing educational assessment, creating tools that accurately measure learner progress.
  • Analysing and interpreting results, using the principles of triple concordance to gain meaningful insights from assessment data.
  • Refining Training Strategies, adjusting teaching methods based on analysis to improve learning outcomes.

By the end of this programme, participants will be able to develop and implement training programmes that include effective evaluation components to accurately assess and certify learner skills and competencies.

This key training session will be led by experienced facilitators: Julien GILSON for the French-speaking participants ; Magaret and Joe JACKSON for the English-speaking participants. Simotwo ZAINABU and Kobadega SAMAH from the COLEAD training department will organise the sessions to ensure a seamless and productive learning experience for all participants.

Impact and certification

The training is expected to have a profound impact on COLEAD’s current and future training programmes and activities, integrating deeper assessment methodologies into regular practice. It will enable the formal issuance of a ‘Certificate of Achievement’ after the training. This upgrade is a direct consequence of COLEAD’s ISO 21001 certification obtained in December 2023. As COLEAD prepares for this session, the entire training department is involved and ready to embark trainers on a transformational journey in order to empower learners through accurate and effective skills assessment.
