On 4 May, COLEACP held a meeting with National Plant Protection Organisations (NPPOs) and stakeholders in the fruit and vegetable sector of ACP countries on “How import controls of fresh fruit and vegetables are carried out in Europe – the example of Belgium”. In Nairobi, technical staff of Fresh Produce Exporters Association of Kenya (FPEAK), Fresh Produce Consortium of Kenya (FPC) and Kenya Flower Council (KFC) took part in group training on effective implementation of protocols for the management of false codling moth (FCM, Thaumatotibia leucotreta) as part of COLEACP’s NExT Kenya programme. Kenyan mango stakeholders have agreed on September 2021 as the tentative month for resumption of exports to the EU after an 8-year break. Ghana–UK trade agreement Ghana and the United Kingdom signed a trade agreement worth $1.6 billion on 2 March (Gov.uk, 2 March; Africanews, 3 March), and the legislation came into force on 5 March.
