Access to finance for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) is a significant obstacle to the development of inclusive and sustainable agricultural and food sectors, especially in vulnerable and high-potential countries such as Sub-Saharan African countries. The Fit for Market Plus (FFM+) programme was launched in the Caribbean Region in May 2022 (webinar) and in November 2022 through local workshops. Since the launch of the digital system for receiving applications for support under the Fit For Market+ programme in early July 2022, 716 applications for support (as at 21 September 2023) have been received. Four inspiring African entrepreneurs presented the range of skills that they have developed to build successful and sustainable agribusinesses in Africa during the 12th Innovations Session, organised by the Pan-African Farmers’ Organization (PAFO) and COLEAD on 15 February 2023.
