COLEACP has been providing training in performance management, effective communication and lean management principles for the senior managers of AAA Growers, one of Kenya’s leading exporters of premium and prepared vegetables and the country’s largest commercial grower and exporter of chillies.
“For a firm, nothing can give more satisfaction than seeing your customers delighted, which can be due to the satisfaction they derive from the product or the customer service. To achieve this, the issues and concerns of the customers are addressed first.”
– Extract from performance management training
The success and competitiveness of a company depends on the performance level of all its employees. To improve organisational effectiveness and efficiency, organisations should work strategically to transform to a performance culture. This is achieved through a rigorous process of changing mindsets, influencing acceptance of change, and building a culture where staff believe in performance and productivity. Implementing a performance management system helps to align a company’s corporate goals with each of its core functions and departmental goals, and downwards to individual role objectives, and an environment where honest conversations about performance are appreciated by all parties.
Linked to the topic of performance management, the training also included an introduction to effective communication and lean management to further improve business processes. AAA Growers will benefit from this training programme by improving performance and productivity, and creating an environment where employees and managers work together as a unified team, and where weaknesses are regarded as areas for improvement.
Digital group training on Performance Management for Horticultural SMEs will be part of COLEACP’s training offer from Q2 of 2021.
